The Grant Thornton Leinster Secondary Girls Schools League Cup Finals brought together over 1,200 students from 40 schools across Leinster in a celebration of talent, sportsmanship and school spirit. Former Tennis Ireland President Ann O'Conner, a stalwart of the League for over 32 years acted as MC, joined by long-time supporter Claudia Tierney.
The Senior Cup Finals took place at Lansdowne Lawn Tennis Club. Mount Anville was the standout school of the day claiming victories in both the Senior A and Senior C divisions. Their Senior A triumphed over Holy Faith Clontarf while the Senior C secured a hard fought win against Santa Sabina. Mount Sackville claimed the Senior B title after defeating Loreto Dalkey in a great match. In the Senior D Final, Sandford Park were victorious against Presentation Kilkenny.
Meanwhile, the Junior and Minor Cup Finals were held at Castleknock Lawn Tennis Club on where the standard of competition remained equally impressive.
Holy Child Killiney delivered a great performance and we’re victorious in both the Junior A and Minor A titles. Loreto Foxrock won the Junior B division while Our Lady’s Terenure claimed victory in Junior C. Additionally, Teresians secured a win in Junior D.
Last but definitley not least! In the Minor Cup Finals, Rathdown succesfully secured the Minor B title. Loreto Bray celebrated a landmark achievement with their first-ever league win in Minor C and Loreto Dalkey completed the list of champions with a deserved triumph in the Minor D division.
Overall, the Grant Thornton Leinster Secondary Girls Schools League Finals were a great success and would not have been possible without all the help and support from the teachers, parents, coaches and of course, the players.
