It is with great sadness that Tennis Leinster marks the passing of Jimmy Cahill who sadly passed away on 6th June 2026.
Jimmy dedicated 40 years of his life to the administration of tennis. His incredible commitment to the sport included serving 19 years on the Executive Committee at Clontarf Lawn Tennis Club, 25 years on the Leinster Branch and 15 years across various committees and the Board of Tennis Ireland.
During his distinguished tenure, Jimmy served as the Leinster Honorary Secretary in 2004 and again from 2015 to 2017 and as Leinster President from 2009 to 2010.
Beyond these formal roles, he maintained a long-standing presence within Leinster Tennis spanning several decades. He was a familiar and welcome face across the region, frequently volunteering his time as an official tournament referee and regional organiser for provincial matches and senior open events.
May he rest in peace.
