Council Overview

About the Tennis Leinster Council

The Tennis Leinster Council is responsible for supporting the effective governance, promotion, and administration of tennis across the 82 clubs in the Leinster region. Comprising representatives from affiliated clubs, the Council provides leadership and oversight to help ensure that tennis continues to grow and develop at junior, senior, masters, club, and provincial level.

The Council consists of a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 16 members drawn from clubs throughout Leinster. Members bring a broad range of experience from within the tennis community and work collectively to support clubs, players, coaches, volunteers, and committees across the province.

Through its work, the Council aims to maintain high standards of organisation, encourage participation at all levels, and provide a clear structure for decision-making within Tennis Leinster. It plays an important role in coordinating competitions, supporting player development, addressing governance matters, and ensuring that the needs of member clubs are represented.

Council Meetings

The Council typically meets once per month, usually on a Tuesday evening. Meetings may take place either in person or remotely, allowing members from across the province to participate effectively. These meetings provide an opportunity to review ongoing activities, consider matters raised by clubs or committees, monitor progress across key programmes, and agree priorities for future work.

Key Leadership and Officers

The Council is supported by four principal officers: the President, Vice-President, Honorary Secretary, and Treasurer. These officers provide leadership, continuity, and administrative oversight, helping to ensure that Council business is managed efficiently and that decisions are implemented appropriately.

In addition to their individual responsibilities, the officers work closely with Council members and sub-committees to support the delivery of competitions, development programmes, governance processes, and communications with affiliated clubs.

Sub-Committees and Areas of Responsibility
